Not only did PC Magazine don our app with 4.5 stars and their Editor’s Choice award last August, now they’ve named Dashlane as one of The 50 Best Free iPhone Apps of 2013!

As Jill Duffy from PCMag explains, awesome and truly free iPhone apps are hard to come by:

This list highlights 50 apps, across a number of genres, that we at PCMag think have shown outstanding performance, have been well received by a variety of technology users, and are truly “free.” No gimmicks, no “membership required” or in-app purchase necessary. Free. Period.”

Free, indeed. It’s only fair that if you to start using randomly generated passwords for all your accounts, you access to them on-the-go, when you may need them most. And with an app that “hits the sweet spot between security and laziness”, as Sara Yin from PC Mag puts it, it sounds like we’re doing just that!

We’re very honored and delighted to be named in PCMag’s Top 50, especially among so many greats (and favorites), like Chrome, Draw Something, StumbleUpon and others.  What are some of your favorite iPhone freebies? Tell us in the comments. You could be responsible for someone finding their favorite, new app.

And if you haven’t already downloaded our iPhone app, there’s no time like the present to try it. (Our Android app is free, too!)

We received some great news earlier this month. Dashlane has been selected to demo at FinovateEurope in London this February!

FinovateEurope is a conference for financial and banking technology innovations, widely known for the demo-only style. Last year’s presenters include some of the biggest names in financial-technology, including PayPal, eToro, and Sandstone. Not to mention, a fellow FirstMark Capital startup, Second Market, is also a Finovate alum.

Finovate presents a great opportunity for Dashlane to show some of the most innovative minds in Europe’s financial tech-scene just how disruptive our technology is and the implications it has for Europe’s e-commerce market.

Not only that, but it’s a chance to defend our title! Last year at Finovate Fall in NYC, Dashlane went home a winner of the “Best in Show” award, thanks to an equally astounding and entertaining demo of our iPad prototype by Emmanuel Schalit, our CEO, and Nishant Mani, our VP of Partnerships & Marketing.

This time around, we’re planning to demo Dashlane’s core technology: a desktop and mobile app that enables instant checkouts, logins, and form-filling, universally on every website and device, without the need for site-side integration. We may also launch a brand new feature that world has never seen before. You’ll just have to stay tuned to find out!

If you’re planning to attend FinovateEurope and would like to meet at the conference, get in touch by emailing press(at)dashlane(dot)com or send us a DM on Twitter.

Let the countdown begin!

When we released desktop version 1.6, we not only introduced Dashlane Courier, we also added another feature which deserves a closer look: the ability to manually add purchases to Dashlane.

To add a new purchase, simply visit the Purchases tab and click Add New Purchase at the bottom the app screen.

From there, you’ll be prompted to add some details about your purchases.

After clicking OK, you can then edit or add more details to your purchase, which you can also amend even when you are automatically tracking receipts through Dashlane:

It makes keeping track of your purchases through Dashlane even easier!

We’re demoing at FinovateFall 2012 today in New York City! We were selected to be one of 64 companies innovating in the financial tech space, and we’re excited to show what Dashlane can do to a different kind of audience.

Given the Finovate audience’s focus on financial transactions, we thought it’d be a great opportunity to premiere our iPad prototype which is optimized for the shopping use-case. Our iPad app should be available in 4-5 weeks, and is similar to the iPhone app but it is further optimized for m-commerce, bringing the receipt-tracking feature to mobile. (We do plan on bringing that to iPhone later as well.)

We’re particularly excited about Dashlane for iPad because while we know the browsing experience on Dashlane for iPhone is awesome, we know that iPad users spend the most time and money shopping among all mobile users. In fact, 88% of all mobile shoppers accessing retail websites are doing so from an iPad device. Moreover, shopping cart conversion rates are much higher: compare 1.5% on iPad to 0.57% for other mobile devices.

Also exciting is the fact that we are actively looking to make our iPad browsing experience embeddable in apps and websites by partners and other developers. (Contact us if you’re interested in hearing more!)

Here are some screengrabs of what our iPad prototype looks like right now.

1) Dashlane makes it painless to fill any complicated form you might have ordinarily abandoned given the lack of a keyboard on an iPad:

2) Intuitive, visual UI makes it easy to decide how you want to pay:

3) And after buying, you can save your purchase in order to track your spending:

There’s a lot of live-music fans here among the staff here at Dashlane, and we’ve discovered that one of the best use-cases for our product is using it to make sure we don’t miss out on concert tickets. Shopping cart time-outs, not hitting “Buy” quick enough — not a problem with Dashlane, which allows you to check out anywhere (on your phone or your computer!) in less than 30 seconds!

We put together this pretty rad infographic using data from the New York Times and SeatGeek.com, to parse just how (in)convenient online concert ticket-buying is… and we also discovered exactly how much more expensive live-music tickets are getting. Concert and festival prices this summer in the U.S. are more expensive than they ever have been before — likely a reflection of how much more the music industry relies on events to bring in cash, especially since you can now listen to all the music in the world for free on services like Spotify.

To top it all off, we also decided to include tips on how to get the tickets you want — we recommend using tools like Songkick.com and getting creative with how you search for discount codes on social media. Check it out!
