Time is money, as they say. Have you ever wondered how much it “costs” to get chores around the home done? Or even to complete your everyday digital tasks?

Our newest infographic explores the time spent on and financial cost of completing all kinds of tasks around the home, and then aggregates the best tools available that might help you get these tasks done by someone else. Moreover, there are also tools that you can use to automate the digital tasks on your plate on a daily basis, too.

Let us know if you use any of these tools, and whether we missed any in the comments!

It’s just any day now before the next security breach. To highlight that point, we put together this infographic that details all the major online security breaches in the past 12 months. From Apple to Zappos, they’re all here.

Plus, we put together some Harris poll insights about the risky behaviors people engage in online that make it even likelier they’ll be hacked. And in order to try to change those behaviors, we’ve suggested a few different, basic ways people can secure their digital lives.

We encourage you to share this infographic widely, in order to educate your friends and family about these basic steps everyone can take in order to make it harder for hackers to gain access to your personal data online.

Recently, we shared some very interesting insights from a poll that we commissioned with Harris Interactive. We found that there are a lot of discrepancies between the way people feel about their online security — or rather, insecurity — and the steps that they take to protect themselves online, as you can see in this infographic:

What’s interesting to me is that there are actual solutions  (like, ahem, Dashlane) to the challenges that people face with online security. But according to this poll, there are still significant numbers of people who are unaware of them.

I asked the question, “Why do you think so many people are careless about their online security?” on Quora. Here are some of the responses I received:

  • Why should people waste their effort thinking up a password when they already have too many (maybe five)? *sigh* Effort
  • Simply because they are unfamiliar with threats.
  • I’m careless because I have little of value, and the information that I care about only needs to be concealed from a small group of people who are  unlikely to constitute a legitimate security threat.
  • Ignorance, convenience, and misplaced trust are the usual reasons.  Even savvy online people will make a mistake or get lazy.
  • We (software engineers) haven’t made it easy enough.

So, what do you think? Why are people careless about online security? What motivates you/unmotivates you to protect yourself online? We’d love to hear your thoughts!

Also, could you help one of those 45% of confused Americans, and share Dashlane with them please? ;)

There’s a lot of live-music fans here among the staff here at Dashlane, and we’ve discovered that one of the best use-cases for our product is using it to make sure we don’t miss out on concert tickets. Shopping cart time-outs, not hitting “Buy” quick enough — not a problem with Dashlane, which allows you to check out anywhere (on your phone or your computer!) in less than 30 seconds!

We put together this pretty rad infographic using data from the New York Times and SeatGeek.com, to parse just how (in)convenient online concert ticket-buying is… and we also discovered exactly how much more expensive live-music tickets are getting. Concert and festival prices this summer in the U.S. are more expensive than they ever have been before — likely a reflection of how much more the music industry relies on events to bring in cash, especially since you can now listen to all the music in the world for free on services like Spotify.

To top it all off, we also decided to include tips on how to get the tickets you want — we recommend using tools like Songkick.com and getting creative with how you search for discount codes on social media. Check it out!
