We’re demoing at FinovateFall 2012 today in New York City! We were selected to be one of 64 companies innovating in the financial tech space, and we’re excited to show what Dashlane can do to a different kind of audience.

Given the Finovate audience’s focus on financial transactions, we thought it’d be a great opportunity to premiere our iPad prototype which is optimized for the shopping use-case. Our iPad app should be available in 4-5 weeks, and is similar to the iPhone app but it is further optimized for m-commerce, bringing the receipt-tracking feature to mobile. (We do plan on bringing that to iPhone later as well.)

We’re particularly excited about Dashlane for iPad because while we know the browsing experience on Dashlane for iPhone is awesome, we know that iPad users spend the most time and money shopping among all mobile users. In fact, 88% of all mobile shoppers accessing retail websites are doing so from an iPad device. Moreover, shopping cart conversion rates are much higher: compare 1.5% on iPad to 0.57% for other mobile devices.

Also exciting is the fact that we are actively looking to make our iPad browsing experience embeddable in apps and websites by partners and other developers. (Contact us if you’re interested in hearing more!)

Here are some screengrabs of what our iPad prototype looks like right now.

1) Dashlane makes it painless to fill any complicated form you might have ordinarily abandoned given the lack of a keyboard on an iPad:

2) Intuitive, visual UI makes it easy to decide how you want to pay:

3) And after buying, you can save your purchase in order to track your spending:

Why not only one app for Ipad/Iphone?

  2. Peter says:

The app looks gorgeous, I must say, almost enough to make me want to buy an iPad but I don’t think the pricetag quite justifies a casual reading of my RSS feeds at breakfast. Also I hate apple so :P

  4. When seeing the video #Finovate… I rushed to the AppStore. Was disappointed to find no App. Thought it might me because I was using the Belgian store. Switched to my account on the French store. Still found nothing… And realized only today that there was the word “prototype” somewhere. That reminded me of teacher telling us to read carefully the text of the math problem before rushing to work on solving it!

    • Hi Florence, yes, just a prototype! Our first iPad app for a partner is out in the next week or so — and our in-house iPad app will be out early next year. if you have ideas about what you’d like to see in a Dashlane iPad app please write us at community@dashlane.com :)

It’s been more than 4-5 weeks since the article was published. Still no iPad app. You guys tend to overpromise on these release dates. Can you give a reasonable estimate as to when this will be out?

    • Hey Aaron,

We’re a tech start-up — things like this happen! :) We have focused on getting the iPad SDK out to partners, which has delayed the development of our in-house iPad app. The first iPad app we’ve developed for a major partner will be out in the next week or so!

Realistically our in-house iPad app will now probably be out in early 2013. We don’t want it to be simply a reproduction of what we did for iPhone; we really want to take advantage of the iPad specifically, and we’re still debating what that will look like. If you have any ideas, we’d love to hear them… we are seriously brainstorming right now. Please write me at community@dashlane.com.
