We’re proud to announce that Dashlane won two awards from DataWeek, the premier conference and festival showcasing the innovations behind the “Data Revolution.”

Dashlane was the only company to win more than one award! Indeed, we won both DataWeek awards we were up for: Top Innovator in Data Privacy & Law and Top Innovator in Personal Data.

We have worked really hard to build and deliver a product that users can completely trust to privately and securely store all their personal data. Indeed, the personal data you store on Dashlane is accessible to you and only you — and is impossible to break into, even by the most diligent hackers.

We count privacy and security experts and die-hards among our users. Their trust in Dashlane alone is proof-positive, to our team, that we are doing things right. They keep us focused on building the most private and secure password and personal data manager out there.

Thanks so much to DataWeek and the voting public for our awards! And, of course, thank you to our users for getting us here.

(The DataWeek 2012 conference will take place Sept. 24-27 in San Francisco.)

Congrats on the awards guys! Hopefully this gets you a bit more press on the tech-blog circles, DL really is the best password manager I’ve come across yet.

I don’t know how I’d cope searching for a job without it, as so many sites insist on using a specific username. I recommend DL to everyone searching for a job, even if just for these sites if they’re still cautious.

The only thing that could make it better would be the ability to automatically update and upload C.V’s – I’d have a go myself but I don’t think basic VB is going to cut it (I’m an engineer, not a developer :(

Thanks again guys for an awesome service.

    • Hey Pete, it’s so nice to hear that you’re enjoying Dashlane so much.

And it’s particularly interesting to hear that your specific use-case is the job search process online. In fact, our community manager, Ashley, had suggested this was a possible way people might find Dashlane useful.

Anyway, if you’d like to join our Board of Users, please write to community@dashlane.com and we’ll get you set up!

      Thanks for using Dashlane! :)

I have been doing some research on password managers since that writer from Wired got his on-line self effectively eviscerated. I’m going to give DL a go tonight after work as it looks like one of the best solutions out there.

Also, as an aside, I know you’re very confident in your product, but throwing around claims that DL is “impossible to break into”, is quite… bold. Nothing is impossible, especially to a group of well-motivated “hackers” who have been told they cannot do something.

    • Daniela Perdomo says:

Hey Ryan, glad to hear you found us and are going to try Dashlane out. Further, good to hear that the Wired writer’s hack story motivated you to make sure that doesn’t end up happening to you. Here’s a great article in ArsTechnica that explains why random, unique passwords for every single web account — which Dashlane can help you achieve — is the best way to stay safe: http://arstechnica.com/security/2012/08/passwords-under-assault/

Yes, saying it’s impossible to hack into it a bold statement. But that’s because all your Dashlane data is locally encrypted with AES-256 — a military-grade encryption that has not yet ever been hacked into. Of course nothing is impossible, but certain things can “essentially be impossible,” and hacking into AES-256 is one of those.

Read more about why here, on Quora: http://www.quora.com/How-secure-are-AES-256-encrypted-files

      And on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Encryption_Standard

In any case, please let me know what you think once you try us out. You can reach me on Twitter or here.

        Hello again,

I gave the software a try and I must say that it is very nice and pretty easy to use. I’m going to test run it for a week before I decide upon the premium version.

One quick question, in future updates are there going to be user-defined parameters for password generation? Some sites do not allow special characters, so I can’t take advantage of DL password generator. Just a minor question.

        • Hi! Glad you’re liking it so far.

We’ve actually designed Dashlane’s password generator to be as universal as possible, meaning we create the most strong and unique passwords, but don’t use special characters as many websites don’t allow their use. So you should be good. :)

In any case, other people want user-defined parameters precisely to add symbols; that is on our product roadmap down the line.

          • Ryan says:

Great! Thanks for the reply. Now I have to figure out what a certain website wasn’t accepting my password. I just assumed it was because of special characters!

            Thanks again.
