I joined Dashlane last December and immediately began working on the iPhone version of our secure desktop application. And today, I am really proud to announce that the first iteration of the Dashlane iPhone app is finally here!
Download it from the App Store for free right now:
What you should know about Dashlane for iPhone V.1.0:
- A mobile vault: You’ll now be able to conveniently access all your contact information, ID’s, and logins/passwords wherever you go
- Super-safe: The app maintains the same level of encryption & decryption on mobile as Dashlane does on desktop and the web-app (More on this below)
- Convenience: This first version allows you to easily copy/paste all passwords and launch the login pages straight from the app
- More to come: We focused on contact info and logins/passwords first because based on your feedback this is what you wanted most urgently — payment info and browser integration coming next! And while this version is read-only, editing capabilities are on their way, too.
The level of security put in place in order to assure the safety of our users’ personal data is very high at Dashlane. Of course, it’s quite challenging to achieve this on the relatively limited resources on an iPhone, especially compared to a desktop PC or Mac.
Working with the team here, however, we came up with a good solution — we can really say our mobile app is just as secure and private as the desktop versions of Dashlane! Of course, maintaining the same level of security comes at some cost. For example, the account loading is not instant since all decryption happens locally, but it is reassuring to know that your data is handled with the level of security Dashlane users have come to expect.
Here you can see a screenshot of the local decryption process:
Building this first version of the app has been fun, but the real excitement is knowing about all the features we have planned that will take this application to another level. The work has just begun!
In the meantime, I’m eager to hear what you think, and to field any questions or comments you might have!

Rew,
That’s indeed a great news. Are you guys working on an Android client as well?
Cheers,
Chirag

Thanks! If you end up writing something please send it our way: press@dashlane.com
WHERES THE ANDROID APP???
(just kidding, I know its on the way :) congratulations on your release! Switched from lastpass 2 months ago, and have not looked back – hopefully youll get some great reviews on some tech blogs to promote the app and service. Congrats again!
Thanks, Pete! Maybe we’ll get some nice referrals from our users, too ;)
I don’t have an Iphone but I have seen it on my friends iPhones and it looks really cool. I do have and android, are there any plans on making an android app soon? I believe android is probably more difficult to implement but I have seen one app that has a very good approach , it is an app called “Tiny Password” and its approach is very easy and good. Maybe you all could try something similar to that?
Hey Ryan, Android app is already in development, so it’ll be out sooner than you think! In the meantime, you can access Dashlane on your Android device by logging into our web-app via your mobile browser: https://www.dashlane.com/app/en/#signin
